I spent this past summer as a Management Intern at AdventHealth Kansas City.

• I shadowed the ER for 3 days and watched 3 surgeries

My Experience

Student Association Executive Vice President

• Enhanced SA Senate meetings by assigning devil's advocates to ask hard questions and enhancing productivity while keeping meetings to 1 hour
• Advocated for the creation of the road behind the village to make commuting easier for students
• Created Lift-Off Initiative - $1,000 project that funded 5 small student businesses
• Organized the purchase of 60+ pepper sprays and 90 rape whistles for the safety of women on campus
• I led SA Senate - A group of 25 highly capable students who represent the student population
• $14,000 spent on projects to enhance student life on campus (the most in recent recorded history)

Why Me?

• I am a capable driven leader with high level communication skills. I have led student government in creating 18 events, advocating for students to administration, and empowering other to become their best. I am always looking for an opportunity to grow and push myself to new limits!

I was born in Los Angeles, but I grew up abroad in the Philippines and Indonesia as my parents were missionaries.

Growth

In the summer after my freshman year of college, I was diagnosed with stage 4 nasopharyngeal cancer. I had a 3cm tumor behind my nose and a 4cm tumor on my lower back. After 7 months of radiation and chemotherapy, I was pronounced cancer-free.

During my final days of radiation, I came up with a business plan to implement during my sophomore year. I started a small business that sells dorm essentials from my room.

Markdown Mart has been featured in the Chattanooga Business Trend and The Southern Accent.

Markdown Mart Founder

• Sold dorm essentials from my dorm room
• Published in Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce and Southern Accent
• Was my sustainable income for a whole year!

Student Association President (High School)

• SA President for my Junior and Senior Year of High School
• Held 10+ SA events and 4 themed banquets
• Created a Poetry Slam - where students wrote bars about teachers and dressed up like them to the moon :)
